when did the 208 stop and the 241 start.......

Are they interchangeable? Why is the 241 stronger anyway? I thought they are just about the same. thanks

the last year for the 208 was 1988 and the 241 came in from 89-91 any year should be a direct swap and bolt in IIRC. I do know that the 90-91 model 241 had a different set up for the speedo and that the 89 still had the little plastic gears in it for the speedo. The 241 is a little stronger alum. case and has a lower gear ratio in it and also has an internal oil pump to help with lubrication. I also believe it has a slightly wider chain in it too.....Jason

Some one must have replaced the 241 w/ a 208. I had a 208, it wheeled fine until I blew it up. Just enjoy it and plan what you want to replace it with in the future /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif when it is inoperable, or just takes a puke one day. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif. You can keep your eyes open for a deal since your's is working. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif
