When did the 6.5L come out?

Does anybody know when the 6.5L Diesel came out? i have an 82 Blazer that came with a 6.2L but when i bought it, the guy dropped in the 6.5L, just curious?

'92 is the first year on record.

All my research showed 92 as well. But not in a blazer though.
It was only offered in a blazer in 1994 and it was Turbo.
Well I will double check maybe it was offered in NA in 92-93 but definitely only in 94 in Turbo mode.
In 95 they changed to Tahoe.

Just checked it now, 92-93 no diesel in blazer, and as I said earlier 94 had the 6.5turbo

well first there was the 1963-1966 "Toro-Flow Diesel" and the 1973-1976 4.8L "In-Line Diesel", the 1978-1981 5.7L "350ci", and the 1982-1991 6.2L "379ci", and the 1992-current 6.5L diesel.
Note: the first three diesel's I hear are crap, and are no longer in exsistance.
