When I call the junkyard for a 14 bolt FF,3/4 ton, what vehicle do I say I have?
I like to approach it as "dumb" as I can so I pay minimal for it. Please be specific. Would this be an early 80's sub? I need a vehicle that most likely has 4.10 gearing since this is what I need to match my D60.

I got my axles from a 1978 3/4 Ton Chevy 4WD pick-up.

Any 2wd truck will work fine as long as they are the 3/4 ton so you can bolt it right up to your springs without mods. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I just need a specific two wheel drive when I call. They are typically lost out here in NJ, so I need to be specific.
What chevy 2 wheel drive would have a 3/4 ton?

Just make sure you get a FF or SF whichever you may want. W/ a 60 front Ill say you want the FF, so tell them you need the one w/ the big thing sticking out of the middle. /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

I got mine from a K 20 1978 Pickup.I don´t think the sub was with the FF it was SF. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Your missing the idea that all you need to do is say a random year between 73 and 87, 2wd, 3/4ton, wiht 4.10 gears. Thats it, thats what I do when I call.

If you want a FF, better ask for an 81 or earlier, think they went to the semi-floater in 3/4 tons in 82.

there are ffs in newer 3/4tons I am almost certain. Would be best to ask for a 70 something though just safer.
