Hey guys,
I own another Chevy again, this time a 90 V30 Crewcab SRW. The draglink and rag joint are shot, there is a lot of steering play. I was thinking it would be a good time to put the ORD crossover steering kit in, but I'm not sure its really necessary for me. The truck has a 4" lift, 315/75-16 tires, and will more than likely never be on a trail or anything, mostly road use. It has a 454, but will have a Cummins soon. Can you retain the factory swaybar with their kit? What else is needed besides their kit? Steering box, shaft, etc? Thanks for any help-Nick

What do you plan to do with the truck?

Drive it, leave the stock steering setup alone and just get new parts to replace the worn.

Off road and/or play with it, get crossover.

Remember the KISS method:

Keep
It
Simple
Stupid

Like was stated in my previous post, it will be mainly on road. If it ever goes on dirt it won't be articulating, etc. I've heard that crossover steering is easier on the frame by the steering box and it gives you a better turning radius, thats why I was asking.

It does but mainly when something larger than stock has been employed, hence the larger tires, etc.

I'd leave it alone and not mess with it. Save the money for crossover for a truck that can or will be built for the sole purpose of its duties that require the crossover.

not worth the cost for your intended use, although i would recommend getting a steering box brace for the frame (will end any chance of the box cracking the frame)
