When is BB 05'

Can't wait for BB 05!!!!!!

I'll be there and 90% staying at slickrock as usual, but I may spring for a hotel/motel room. Seemed alot of people did that last year and there were alot fewer at slickrock than the year before.

I am pretty stoked about BB05' this year. It will be my first and I am bringing my wife along. Now that I have a tow rig I am a little more confident about taking my rig so far away. If she breaks down I will just tow her home. My wife and I are planning on staying in a hotel. Maybe camp the first night and get a hotel the last two.......

Can't wait to meet a lot of members!

See you guys there :xmas:

I'm bugging people like Watson from ORD, Jesse from HAD, Kert from DIY4X, and Trevor from WFO on the phone to guide this rookie on how to build a bad ride.

Then you'll have a hell of a rig talking to those 4 guys :waytogo:

I'd love to make it but It's looking more like '06 for me to be able to head down there.

Are all the downtown Moab hotels pretty close to where the wheeling is? I see that Slickrock campground is north of downtown a bit. Any downside to staying downtown besides being known as the wimpy ass girl who wants AC and a shower in a real bathroom every day? theft? distance to wheeling?

North of Moab to South of Moab takes about 10 Min or maybe a little more. Don't worry about location in town it's all real close.

Sometimes there is a group that gets together and stays at the Motel 6 which is about a 1/4 mile from the slickrock.

AC is not really an issue in Oct. Daytime is warm but not scorching and the evenings cool down and are nice.

There is a Denny's in the motel 6 parking lot too...which seemed to be where a lot of us ended up most mornings (and evenings... )

Oh god, don't let Jen here hotel or I will be chunking up more money so she can have a soft bed and shower. I am hoping I can find a slide in camper for my trailer between now and then, but not planning on it, so better roll out the tent and check for holes :doah: .

I booked a suite... but hey, I won't say a thing the whole weekend. In fact, I'll make sure I have small dirt smudges on my face and do some complaining about my back. :thumb:

A cabin seems like a reasonably priced alternative Krennan. With your trailer it might be hard to finagle though. I think you're gonna be stuck with a pull through site...

Rene,
I was figuring on a pull-through site anyway. I figure I will unload the K5 and set the tent up on my trailer deck, dependng on size. I know that way I wont have to deal with any rocks under my tent. I am also going to break down and buy an air bed, I have abused my bones too badly in the past and it is catching up with me :eek1: .

The air beds are good, but I like the aluminum folding cots better. Not sure if they make double wide for newlyweds though...:D

I just don't have any luck or patience for air beds. They leak and take to long to fill/empty. My cot is up in 10 seconds flat and keeps me off the ground.

Yup, I use the same thing, works very nice.

I just found the best of both worlds, a queen sized air bed with a folding cot style frame :D . That way I am off the ground and I have an air bed. Things are looking really good for me, I am just waiting to see where everyone is staying so I can make reservations.
