When is too much rust not worth saving?

Had hip replacement on Tue so not much as of recent lol but have had time to do some searching for parts..
I am planning on meeting up with a guy that has the rear floor pans , rear floor , door skins and more new stuff I’m buying for a bundle price
Also picking up a 75 as a parts truck that’s rusted out also, but has a roll bar that I could use, good top ect so can’t refuse
All under $1000 so should save me a ton in the long run...

Lemme know if you wind up with an extra driver-side door in good shape.

Or pickup tailgate hardware.

thats pretty bad, but ive seen worse. I guess it would depend on how nice the rest of the truck was, miles, etc. I would echo the sentiment that Id almost be tempted to get another K5 tub, cut the top off and convert it to 73-75 and build some rocker box reinforcements. But im spoiled, the only rust on mine has been a half dollar hole in a rear fender.
