Does anybody remember what years the hd. K case th350 was made? I broke mine in half by the modulator, and am looking for a replacement and in my neck of the woods it's pretty easy to find a whole parts truck for pretty cheap. I found a k10 with a 350/205 minus motor for $350, but it's 60 miles from me and my d.d. only gets 8mpg. 2800rpm at 60.:doah: thanks in advance.

I am not a 100% on this but I belive they started in late 1978 and went through 1981 .

My understanding was that all trucks had a K case as it has the thicker flange where the ally torque converter cover bolts up.

That's my understanding also, I'll try and confirm.

My info states that the 4x4 th350 was offered on Blazer/Jimmys from 1970 thru 1979. On trucks depending on a number of factors, it was offered 1969 thru 1979.

Hope that helps.

TH350's were offered up to 1981/1982 and there were no "K" cases before 1978 . Most ( if not all ) "K" case TH350's will be of the lock-up converter style that were built in 1981 and later.

Tom, are the 4x4 350 trannys not "K" simply because they are 4x4? Is there a "hd" 4x 350 just in the years you mention? I have no info on this.

Edit: maybe because I was only considering the non- lockup type.

I might not have been clear - sorry . I was refering to the "K" case as an "HD" case . Just to clarify - to the best of my knowledge all TH350's built after sometime in 1978 ,that were installed in 4x4's, were "HD" cases.

Not sure my self, but it makes sense that the General would have beefed them up, I've seen plenty of broken ones.

Those strut bars bolted to the dust cover were a great idea ! GM did a fine job on that one .
