How do I know if my rear springs are worn out? What are the symptoms?

I'm thinking of adding a TC 3" lift, but I don't know if I should get the blocks or just replace the springs all together.

Anyone ever use the rear stock springs from JC Whitney?

How old are the springs ?

If your going to put a lift on it then now would be the time to get new ones and not just add blocks..
