I have always pulled my engine and trans separately, however I know a few people that like to pull the eng and trans together. Here is my question.. I have my 203 off of the back of the TH350, but the trans is still connected to the block. Radiator is out, engine is down to bare heads and block. I am wondering, with 4" of lift, and 38" tires on, will I be able to pull the engine and trans out together? I do have a load balancer for my engine hoist. Any suggestions?

Should be no problem to pull engine and trans as a single unit AS LONG AS you can go high enough with the cherry picker to get it over the radiator support.

take the air out of the tires as well, helps big time.

I just swapped out engine in mine. 6.in lift w/36's. had to let air all the way out to clear core support. Would be possible with overhead crane but I don't think a cherry picker will do the job for motor and tranny

My truck had a 6 inch lift and to get just the engine out with a standard engine lift set to 1000 lbs I had to take the front tires off and drop the truck to the ground and the oil pan skidded across the top of the core support. So engine and trans together might be a issue

remove the hood, and front core support, jack the engine up enough to undo the engine mounts, then with the weight on the cherry picker let the air out of the tires.

Ive removed engine/transmission combinations, but doing it with a TC on it is new to me. i could imagine that being a problem.

Think he said tcase was off. I pulled a engine/trans from an 80s dodge with a friend and even at stock 4wd HD height we barely cleared. Had to stand on the back of the hoist.

With my 3" body lift and 6" suspension lift, I used bare junkyard wheels so that I could roll it out from under the motor. I didn't have any trouble.

why not just pull the rad support? I think you said you had the rad out already? its not hard to pull. really it makes an engine swap easier in epic proportions. easier to get to at everything easier to swing in and out. I pull the 7.4 vortec out of my dually with the nv4500 its on it. just dropped the t case 1st.
