Where are your ECMs?

Well, I am starting my TPI swap into my 77 Blazer. As I was working on it tonight, I was wondering where you all put your ECMs... I can't find a good spot for it.

Mine is jammed up above my heater box. :)

I can't fit it in the stock carrier (which actually bolts in that location, to the underside of the dash) right now because I still have the swappable PROM carrier in it.

'77 won't have the mounts unfortunately, GM tack welded a couple of brackets there.

I need to move it (put the right PROM in) because it's interfering with the heater control cables/levers back there.

If you are using a Camaro wiring harness, you probably have enough length to run the wires under (or through) the truck and under a seat or in the console, depending on how much you want to cut up or how nice you want it to look.

It's actually the one electrical component still in the stock location... But it is now buried pretty good by my glovebox breaker setup....

Half of glove box liner is sectioned and shortened, ECM is hard mounted behind the lower passenger side dash frame.

Hmm, actually, wonder if you could make a bracket that just stands the ECM up along the inside lower edge of the dash? I know the drivers side has plenty of pre-drilled holes for mounting various items, and I believe there is plenty of space to the drivers side of the glove box...

I used heavy duty velcro and stuck it to the heater box, just above where the foot vent comes out above the transmission hump. I have the connections facing up, and just enough of the other side of the ECM sticking out that I have easy access to the prom chip.

You can leave the factory foot courtesy light where it is, it just presses up against the ECM housing. Makes for a very nice light to see prom chip orientations at night too :)
