Where can I get dana 60 spring perch studs?

Why not just use some grade 8 bolts?

I got mine from blue torch fab but they were a kit so no help there
 
The studs will be stronger then the bolts. They hold there torque setting better. The bottom side of the stud uses a coarse thread and the top side uses a fine thread. So they can be torqued better. I had a set of bolts break down in moab while I was on top of dump bump. They had loosened up then finally broke. Sucked ass. Had to drill them and use an easy out.

I thought that axle side was fine? Maybe I'm not remembering right. If it's course I could go to lowes and get some bolts to hold me over for now
 
Why would a stud be stronger?


Studs provide more accurate and consistent torque loading. They are only being streched went torqued. Versus a bolt that is also being twisted.

Check my build thread. I bought the Superlift kit from Summit I think. Good price. It came with Studs, but I was using a zero-rate so I replaced them with bolts.
 
ARP has studs from many kits they offer for engine bolts.

I'd call them and tell them your specs.
 
I have ran bolts for the last 6 years. Never had a problem. Just make sure they are tight and use tread locker.
 
I bought a complete u-bolt/stud kit from one of the big name companies (Superlift, Skyjacker, or ???). The studs broke and were a PITA to drill out. Yes, they were the type with the coarse threads on one side and fine thread on the other.

Called Stephen Watson at ORD and he said to just use bolts. That was 4-5 years agon and I've never had a problem since. The biggest thing is to make sure they are always tight.

I used B7 studs, I think they are about grade 8 in strength. The first few threads in my diff looked a little crappy so I ran a tap down them and put in the studs till they bottomed in the holes. I also used blue locktite for insurance. As the threads were coarse I used B7 nuts on it also, they are a heavier nut than standard and take a bigger wrench. Regular 5/8" nuts use a 15/16" wrench and these take a 1 1/16" wrench.
 
I got some 3" bolts, they are barely long enough

I can't get one to thread in all the way so I'll have to work on that tomorrow
