So I'm a parts ordering fool right now so I'll have stuff to do when I get back to Cali next week... I ordered all my stuff for the wiring project/cleanup, I ordered an Autometer trans temp. guage setup and this morning I ordered an ORD frame brace so my k10 will be getting a little love soon :)

BUT now I'm onto the front axle... I need to rebuild it a little bit b/c the wheel bearings are loose and I'm going to just assume their shot b/c they are most likely original. I'd like to just replace it all and start fresh...
I'm using this article as a guide for pulling it apart...

So where did you guys order your wheel bearings and seals? He lists a place at the end of the article but its a local shop... so should I just go to the parts store and say I need wheel bearings and seals for an 8 lug "3/4 ton" 10b front end?

Or does someone sell a kit?

I get mine at a local mom and pop place, but check out RockAuto.com. They`re pretty good. I may have a discount code if you want it. PM me and I`ll see if I can find it..

Yeah thats a good idea... I love rockauto's site. I think I have a code saved somewhere but if I can't find it I'll PM ya'...

Ok I went on Rock Auto and they have a couple kits... doesn't seem too bad price wise either. I'm looking at the first one on the list...

Ok well I'll run by Kragen or AutoZone once I get home (I have other projects to get done anyways) and if they don't have it for some reason I'll order that kit off Rock Auto... Thanks for the help guys.

May be cheaper to order it and then get anything else that you need. I was in a rush to wait some more. Check the Azone prices online.

Yeah I've used Timken's at work for all sorts of applications and I just found out last week that they're based out of my roommate's home town...

Don't buy bearings from Schucks/partsamerica. Most of them are made in China and don't last for ****... Buy from anyone that carries Timkin bearings and seals as they are still made in the USA and worth the price you pay.

I just got bearings from Autozone. they gave me the wrong ones first. I had to take them the correct ones so they could cross refernce the numbers. nobodys fault at the store, or mine, they gave me what their computer said to. it was still a waste of 2 hours though driving there twice.
