I have to fix some rustspots on my blazer but I can't find the sticker with the color codes for the paint. I thought they would be on the SPID-sticker on the glove comparment door but they are not.
The colors are midnight black (wich the paint shop could find for me) and Steel Gray Metallic (wich they couldn't find).
Anyone know where to look in the car?
I have been searching this forum for the last half hour but couldn't find anything about this...

It's a -87 as it says in my sig. I've checked that site. That's were I got the names of the colors but I didn't find the codes.

Try 90L as the secondary color (Grey Metallic) the other listing is 55L (Russet Metallic). The Black is 19U and try the stripe accent 19A (Black and Grey two tone). These are from the 1987 Service Manual that GM dealers had. Any other related Qs just ask I have all three books and wiring manual.

can also try GM paint code 83 & 96 those are the two colors that are in my Mitchell book for 87. What code did they give you for the black?

russett metallic is a very orange color like the short bed

They found that midnight black was suppose to be 86 so I'm getting a bit confused now:confused:

My book shows Black isn't offered in '87 but in '88 they have a Code # 20 and '87-'91 their is a Black Sapphire Metalic Code # 98.

On your RPO Sticker in the glovebox do you have that sticker still... What codes are on there.. Do you have any of these codes?

ZY1 ..... Paint, Solid
ZY3 ..... Paint, Special Two-Tone
ZY5 ..... Paint, Exterior Decor Package
19K ..... Black Top (Model Option)
90K ..... Steel Gray Top (Model Option)

The GM resto pack list Black, Midnight color code 19 and then as a two tone it list Black, Midnight/Gray Steel Metallic 19/90

The HELM book for GM Dealers
10 - 30 Series 1987 Light Duty Truck Service Manual ST-330-87

ZY1 ..... Color Combination: Solid
ZY2 ..... Color Combination: Two Tone
ZY3 ..... See Below
ZY4 ..... Color Combination: Deluxe Two Tone
ZY5 ..... See Below
19K ..... Color Combination: Black (Auxiliary Top)
90K ..... Color Combination: Med Grey (Auxiliary Top)

ZY3 ....Special Two Tone and included the YG1 molding package, black vinyl body side and rear moldings with bright trim, wheel well moldings, bright trim for front side markers and tail lights (except with the YG3 molding package or the Silverado/Sierra Classic model where bright body side and rear moldings with black paint trim are substituted)

ZY5 .... Exterior Decor Package, moldings, dual tone body and rear tape decal (pin stripe)

The ZY3 and ZY5 were typed from the GM restoration packet for 1987 V Blazer/Jimmy

That is where I got my information So it is ALL from GM and verified as correct!

To lazy to get my sales flyer and scan it but here is this from slosh.
