I'm getting ready to change the upper and lower ball joints in my Dana 44. Reading through the process I find I need to adjust the "tensioning sleeve" on each upper ball joint. Where do I get the "special" tool to adjust this sleeve? I've stopped in a couple parts stores and all I get is the blank stare.....

Or you can make one... I did, but I think I am going to buy this too. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Yep, Snap On. Believe it or not Snap On has a lower price on this tool then most other sources. $18.95 plus shipping. I bought it from them about 3 months ago.

Mine took a couple of weeks from Snap-on. Like was said, if you need it now you can make it out of a 13/16 deep socket and a cut-off wheel in about 20 mins. I think that's the right size, but if you really plan on doing this I can double check the size for you. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

I have the replacement sleeves so I can use one to check the size of the socket. I can't wait that long to get one from Snap-on. I might order one down the road but I need to get this front end rebuilt before the upcoming move. Thanks for the info!!! /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif
