where do these go?

they are worth running all the time, otherwise all your gear oil will run out the tubes

so that is your main seal?

they are worth running all the time, otherwise all your gear oil will run out the tubes

are there not any at the tube ends? i'm a 60 n00b! its a whole different creature from the ball joint 1/2 & 3/4 tons....it has me a little intimidated as i've never rebuilt king pins!

Nope there's nothing at the tube ends that will hold in your gear oil. Those seals are what holds in your gear oil, period; be it a D60, D44, or a 10-bolt. All the same. The axle shafts go through those seals right before they slide into the side gears. Only the end of the axle shaft gets bathed in gear oil. Everything else down the length of the axle tube gets filled with mud, rust, grime, etc. Axle tubes get very dirty inside, don't want that mixing with the gear oil.

There is a company that makes seals for out by the C but I cannot seem to find the link. They were run in conjunction with the inner seals. Mainly to keep the axle housing clean.
