I am fixing some issues with the K5, well trying to, and I am curious of everyone's experiences with the online parts providers. I need to replace the blower/heater fan switch and I see it available from multiple providers. I am looking at Classic Industries right now and also replacing the speedo cable. Any feedback on who you use or who you try to avoid? I do try to find parts locally first.

Several Parts Company I trust and have found to provide the correct Parts. ... I am restoring my 85 Blazer so quality and Price are important to me.

RockAuto
USA1 Industries
Auto Metal Direct (AMD)
Classic Industries
C J Pony
Motor City K5
LMC
Amazon -
A1 Auto Parts
Plenty of Others.

I believe I bought my fan switch from RockAuto -Four Seasons 35990 - $9.27

honestly wish I could buy everything genuine Toyota.

but, since that doesn't work well for the k5, parts come from everywhere now. AutoZone, gm dealers, wrecking yards, amazon... be careful with chinamazon. i use it a lot, but there are a lot of things marked "genuine gm" that are most definitely NOT. be prepared to return stuff.

Classic industries is a conundrum. they are local to me, and i always think i can pop in and get stuff.. always ends up being a customer service nightmare. Next time I will have an order shipped to my office 15 miles away! they do have a lot of square body stuff though.

-edit- honestly, its kind of down to a case by case basis now... some things you definitely want to buy genuine gm or ac delco, and other things are just as good from autozone. other things are just flat out not available...

anymore, might be best to search good ol CK5 every time you are looking for something, and if nothing definitive pops up, get in the garage or the sub forum of choice and start a thread?
"hey where's the best turn signal switch for blah blah blah..."
'who has the cheapest patch panel that work"...
"why wont these 72 inch tires fit, and what have i done..."

etc.

be prepared for people to tell you to hit that search button if its a common topic.

I bought a fan switch from LMC was not impressed.

The vent regulators were very nice. Also LMC. Is hit and miss sometimes.

I’ve had great luck with the “Orange Car and Truck Shop”. Their online catalogue is primitive but their customer service has always been great.

Summit
RockAuto
Amazon - based on part numbers for quality brands
LMC
Ecklers

I am seeing now how the shipping can add up with these vendors! Thanks again. ill keep my questions coming after a few search attempts.

Motor City K5 had the lowest heater switches when I bought mine. Also the same with rear window lock/cylinders.

For auto parts I work part time at Napa, I still use rock auto though.

Lmc and usa1 for rest parts.

For rubber gaskets for weather stripping and glass I use Jon Addington on fb he owns Mr A's truck parts.

There is a local parts guy near me I try to use for sqaure body specific parts.
