Where does the wire that controls the smog pump valve plug in at?

I have never been able to figure out where this goes.

I'd go check mine for ya , but my harness is sitting on the garage floor , and the Blazer is being stripped for the future resto :doah:

IIRC there is an inline switch that diverts the air from manifold to atmosphere on the trucks. Should be able to trace it up from the AIR manifold on the exhaust up to the rubber hose to find it.

With that much length, I'd say it's probably near the rear of the motor, or other side, if the motor is setup like that. GM never runs more wire than necessary.

That's what I thought also. I have not been able to find a plug with the matching connector. I'm hoping someone here can snap a picture with it connected so I can see exactly where it goes.

Maybe I'm looking at that wrong. Hopefully someone else will chime in, but what's not connected is perhaps actually supposed to be the power/ground for the AIR divert? Looks to me like it's already connected to the AIR pump, AIR pump constantly works as it rotates (not clutched or anything) divert is the actual function, so it would stand to reason the connector on the pump is actually the divert valve.

Maybe you aren't looking for a valve, just another connector. (which is odd, why wouldn't it just be hard wired to the harness?)

Look near the Red AC high pressure line. That's where the end of the wire is located. The wire is not attached to the air pump. It's attached to the valve. The question above the picture indicates which wire I am referring to.

It is the valve that the air pump feeds. The is a wire that comes off the back of it. I can not tell where this wire goes.

Yeah, that's what I meant...I was assuming the end by the AC line was the one that needed to go to the valve. In actuality thats the one that needs the power/ground to feed the valve.

I was thinking the wire was coming off the AIR pump, which I understand now is not the case. Important is that the AIR pump works without electrical input, when the motor is running, it's pumping air, period. The valve controls where the air goes. The signal for the valve comes from the ECM. So there should be another connector that piece plugs in to, at least how I see it. :)

On my Camaro setup, the plug comes out of the wiring loom that runs along the intake on the passenger side. Doubtful in your case, but a connector like that, you'd THINK would be easy to spot.
