Can anyone tell me where this bracket mount? It was removed from 1989 Chevy K1500 Blazer. I am at a loss as to where it attaches and what its purpose is.

I don’t recognize it. Maybe some kind of jack hold down?

Looks like it has a square hole for a ratchet drive to fit into, and a slot for adjustment--so that may mean its some accessory bracket maybe, for like an air pump or A/C compressor..hard to tell from a photo..

Thanks for trying to help. I can't figure it out, it has driven me insane trying to figure it out. I thought it was part of the jack handle and lug wrench hold down. This is an all original 1989 Blazer no modifications and I'm trying to finish assembling after someone else disassembled. The owner is helpful but can't give any insight. That is why I hoped the experts could help me. Thanks

Could Mount on the block, look around when the AC lines route. Could be a stand-off for a line so harness.

I don’t think that bracket is off of a square body.

@jdsatter is that bracket supposed to have been taken off the truck or was it mixed with new parts? There are no bolt marks on it.

It might be but the slot in the end is smaller than ac lines. The slot near the center had a witness line from what appears to be a washer. I will check to see though. Thanks for your help.

Yes it supposed to have came off this vehicle. It was mixed in with the front sheet metal bolts and screws.

Just guessing. Possibly a brake line bracket, goes with horse shoe clip?

Then why doesn't it have installation marks on it, there's no bolt marks and no scratches where it has been against anything.

Did the truck and parts come from a somewhere that was doing work on other vehicles where something could get mixed in?

:dunno:Just saying, I’ve replaced an AC suction hose on a Ford with a similar bracket. Bolted to the back of the block. Yeah I know it’s not a Ford before someone jumps on that.

My photo isn't so good but there is a witness line from a washer and but or bolt with a washer.
Thanks for your help.

I think that could be the bracket that holds the cruise control diaphragm. The square hole in the bracket is where a throttle cable plastic clip locks into.

Thanks. I hope you are correct. Currently the cruise diaphragm unit is mounted and looks okay but this maybe where it goes. Thanks for your help.
