WHERE does this vacuum port go?

This thing has never been connected in any of my engines/trucks.
I've left it on until now for 'just in case', but it's just a knuckle banger when I need to get to my fuel lines or my distributor hold-down bolt.
Before I pull it out and plug it....
Where is it supposed to go/ What is it supposed to connect to, on a stock engine?

That's usually the vacuum supply port for HVAC and cruise control.

or if th400 tranny in that aplication vac modulator on the tranny for shifts.

Can't beat that for customized t-shirts.
