When I bought my '86 K5, I knew there was a problem with the rear window. I found the motor to be functional, the dash switch needing cleaning, and the motor/regulator cable to be trashed at the jackscrew end. I didn't see a jackscrew mounted, so I just assumed that the PO removed it and trashed it. But after looking at some pictures of the regulators online, I'm now wondering - is the jackscrew mounted to the "back" of the regulator, so I'm just not seeing it?

I have the truck in storage at a buddy's shop with a blown motor, so it's not like I can just walk outside and see, I haven't gotten the rear seat to fold out out of the way, and it's harder still considering I can't put the window down to get a better look at things. I was about to just order up all new parts, but those jackscrews are stupid expensive, so I don't really want to buy one if its there and I just need new gears in it.

Hello Not sure if you found it yet but after you open the inside panel on tailgate it’s on passenger side under window regulator. Watch out it’s spring loaded. I almost took my finger off. But fortunately it sprung back on the wrist I had broken last year.

If you need help, i am a reluctant tailgate expert. I got you covered brother. Video chat would be best.

Hey Billyworld Did you grease the jackscrew. I wise they had a type of rivet that has a screw in thread instead of having to smash the backside. I had a close call with that spring. I should have looked into the repair before jumping into it. The prices on some of those replacement parts get expensive. I got mine up and working

I haven't even looked at the Blazer since the engine popped a head gasket. Probably won't look at it at all for a few more months at this point, lol.
