Where should I go to get and estimate on a new bumper and hitch?

So I'm sittin at a light on my way home from work Tues night and BOOM! frickin rearended. Some ding bat chick hit the guy behind me and he got pushed into my trailer.

Minor damage- small dent in the rear door of my enclosed trailer. and it bent my trailer hitch down. I don't have the typical reciever, I have some home brew deal the PO put on there.

Anyways, her insurance co told me to get an estimate for the damage and they'll write me a check. I need to hit up an Interstate trailer place to get my trailer looked at, but where should I go to get a price on a new hitch and maybe bumper???

Go to uhaul and pick out a hitch. Get quote. Get quote from LMC for a new bumper. Turn that in.

Call Kert and take your money to get a nice bumper for the back.

I would think I'd need a quote for it installed/ including labor... otherwise, not a bad idea. I actually have a kinda beat up CUCV bumper that was slated for this rig, but the brackets for that interfere with a normal reciever. I may scap that and just get a new bumper and reciever. This rig sees 95% on road use cause its my work rig... meaning I need to be able to tow with it again soon.

You should be able to get a quote from them without labor. I would get both though because insurance might pay for the installation

I'd go to a local steel fab shop and get them to quote you for a bumper/tow hitch package that you'd like. Show em some pics or something and they should be able to put something on paper... I would think, that'd be for labor and parts...

my buddy has a shop on 185th in aloha. he could give you some options. either replacement hitch or bumper/hitch. he does custom bumpers, but also sells hitches. im sure he could help ya out.

Go to a body shop!

There are tons of places to get the parts but you need an estimate with parts AND labor. I'm sure the truck is too old to insist on OE parts but it wont hurt to try or atleast shoot for US built parts - no chinese junk. Also don't mention where your hitch came from, all that matters is you need a replacement hitch. If the adjuster presses you about it definitely don't lie but if the shop prices you a nice class III hitch that's to your benefit.

I would also have them check for frame damage. A dealer body ship gives the best estimates.

got a couple estimates today for a new bumber and reciever. I'm still wanting to use the CUCV bumper I have. I'm thinking about throwing that on then having the shop modify or make the reciever work with the CUCV brackets...
