Where the deuce is WMS??

Thanks again Kyle. I posted up over there to see what he says. Heeding Leper's advice, I was more than civil. I hope my locker shows up in the next few days or things will get ugly.

OK gang I have been sitting on the sidelines and gathering info. about WMS/ATOR. I was in Tulsa yesterday and spoke with some knowledgeable people. I used to live in Tulsa and was around the WMS guys. Here is the latest I can provide:

Casey is now working at Chris Nickels Jeep in their off-road shop. John is on the sidelines doing nothing right now. ATOR has moved into a bldg. off of Hwy. 169 at 51st. It is the old Speedliner shop that burned a couple of years ago. I don't have an exact address but if you get off of 169 at 51st street and go West to the very first turn South. It is on the East side of that street about the second bldg. south of 51st.

As far as the original WMS, as you already know, it is defunct and I have heard no info. about it starting again anytime soon.

I don't know if this is new or better info. but if I can be of further help, PM me and I will try to get back as fast as possible.

So Keiths response over on pirate is that he has a list "a mile long" of problems he's dealing with. I hope i'm somewhere in that long line.

update for the jek-ster... with interesting updates for anyone who buys aftermarket bling...

I gave keith a ring yesterday (thursday). To his credit, he answered on the first ring. The connection was bad the first few words, but I'm almost positive he answered by saying "wagoneer machine shop...". Interesting. At any rate, I told him who I was and what my problem was. I had PM'd him over on pirate the same story, and he remembered it. Apperently he went back to WMS HQ and picked up my box (with the 32 spline shaft in it) and my letter explaining all the details. Anyway, he said he has my 31-spline shaft in-hand, and my flanges would be ready to go on friday. He asked me to call him back to make sure everything is good to go. Its friday now, but I figured since everything is supposedly hectic over there, I'd hold off until monday and call him then to see what the newest is. The guy seemed genuinely bummed that some people got screwed in the WMS/ATOR boondoggle and he said he hoped that by setting everything right he'd be able to hold on to a customer base. Other people are talking about this guy lying to them multiple times and not getting their goods, so naturally I'll reserve judgement until I have goodies in-hand before I comment further as to the guy's integrity... but if he comes through, I would buy stuff from him again. The situation (me sending parts back in, in the middle of a messy merger/buyout thing) was pretty screwed up... and he didn't know anything about the deal. I coulda been Joe Blow just trying to get a free intermediate shaft. Anyway, once he had my box with the 32 spline shaft in it, he knew who I was, that I wasn't a scammer etc. We'll see how it goes. Whatever happens, its gonna be posted all over ck5/pirate...

Last thing to say about this situation for now is that I'd like to give MAD props and a huge thanks to Kyle over at NWF. NWF used to buy some stuff from WMS apparently, and when he read about my screwed up situation (doubler with no intermediate shaft!) he not only took the time to PM me, offering to sell me a replacement shaft at reduced cost, but also brought the whole situation to Keith's attention when he talked to him recently. When Keith told me that over the phone I just stood there dumbfounded. This is way, WAY beyond "good customer service". This is a guy taking the time to help a fellow wheeler out... a wheeler who bought a competitor's doubler... just because he was in position to do so. As a consumer, I've never seen anything like it. Suffice it to say, when I need bearing retainers, rebuild parts, tripple shifters etc etc for my doubler, I'll be getting them from NWF. Thanks Kyle!

Well, Keith is doing business with offroadoverstock now. Patrick form offroadoverstock contacted me and said he is sending me the locker today. He filled me in on some of the details of the whole WMS scenario. It all seemed pretty ugly. I'll let everyone know what happens.

If I where going through what you guys are going through right now, I would be RAGING. I am not a very patient and understanding person when it comes to making finacial transactions. If a business says they are going to give me "X" for in return for "Y", then they better damn well do it with out any exscuses. And if a business, who has my money, tells me even one thing that turns out to not be true, I go off like a pistol right away. I guess the reason I am so intolerant, and hard assed when getting even a little runaround is because I have never conducted my own business affairs that way. I have had people approach me willing to let me slide on an "iffy" proposition, and I turned them down cold (even though I would have come out on the winning end) because I am not going to get involved in any deal, I think I may (or may not) be able to deliver on.

Believe me, it's been tough not to lose it. Hopefully this will all work out soon. If it does, it proves that my more rational friends were right by advising me to stay calm and not go off.

Its always good to be rational at first and wade through the **** and then if it keeps happening let it hit the fan. But what Koldsimer has done is very good for him, and also gives Keith the chance to make things up for his name. Now if it doesnt come through. I hardly work any this week, and Kirven, that means if we have to. Im willing to take a stroll up to Oklahoma.

It sure is nice knowing everyone is here to back us up. Thanks guys!:waytogo:

Chief lightfoot says "smokem peace pipe and things be ok"

I saw your situation from both sides. I am on the other end of that kind of situation every day. Not as justified a position as yours. I have to tell you, if a customer blows a gasket at me, I will do absolutely nothing for him. If they come to me calm and we can work something out, I usually end up making a customer for life, out of a "last time I'm coming here" kinda guy.
It's my job.

I was burned a couple of times back when I first started building cars and trucks back in the late 70’s. I was meek about solving the problem, and I got walked on me like a rug. From that time on, I vowed to be aggressive, when somebody I was doing business with would attempt to deceive me, and play games with me. I have no patience for any company that tries to hide a problem with my purchase from me. When a company starts playing games with me, any sales rep that thinks their feelings have been hurt can go home and cry to mommy about it because I am going to raise hell.

Just be careful about the dates. You only have so long to file a dispute with a CC company. I thinks its normally 30 days (because that is what mine is). If you are getting close tell him you are going to inform the CC company to get things on the books. If he comes through, and it is resolved, both of you will still come out OK. If you let the date pass you loose one of your most powerful tools. Just let him know you are doing it so things don't get worse. I hope this all works out, WMS had some cool stuff.

just another quick update. I called and talked to Keith again on Monday. He was very cool and sounded like he was working in a busy shop. At any rate, I told him who I was and what the situation was and he told me that he had a whole bunch of stuff shipping out that afternoon and that I was on the list. Hopefully I'll have my doubler shaft in short order. Either way, I'll keep this thread updated...

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got the correct locker last week. I also learned more of the details about WMS closing shop. I do want to say one thing about Keith. During the whole mix up, he never once placed blame on anyone else. He took responsibility for me not getting my locker even if it wasn't 100% his fault. Him not shifting the blame when he easily could have tells me a lot about his integrity. Thanks for getting me my locker Keith:waytogo:

yeah?? how much ?? I don't like Pirate you even uter the words Mud truck and they all start f---ing with you. Way to much attitude........course that was A while back maybe it's changed
