What types of places can I buy clevises or shackles for winching purposes? I have seen some online, but would rather look at them in person before buying them.

Do you have Tractor Supply Company/Bomgaars/Orschelins type stores in California?

That or a John Deere Ag Dealership will have them as well.

Nothing specific, just a shackle with a 1" thread-in pin (not the kind with the cotter pin) that's rated to handle the weight of the truck. I want to throw two on my front bumper as winching points once I weld on some heavy duty tabs. There is a John Deere place near me here in San Diego, so I'll go check them out.

I get mine here at the local True Value store. $15-ish for a good one.

I have gotten them from e bay, local places, northern tool, enco, and a couple other places.

I got some from everywhere including ACE OSH HD LOWES and all the one already mentionned.
:D

northern seems to have good deals on em... seen some decent ones thru tractor supply....

Local lowes only has the dinky shackles and d rings. I need a set as well, gave me some good ideas to look

I need some shackles for my new A-Bomb. What working load limit should I get? It is going on my heavy Suburban. I think I need the 5/8" size, But, there are many different ones. I think Im going with Crosby or Columbus McKinnon. I have heard nothing but good things about these Company's.

Is this overkill? Its 9.5 ton.

Thanks!

Question shouldn't you size your shackles to the size of winch your using.

Like say I have a 10k winch then I should have at least a 5 ton rated shackle correct?
