Been trying to locate some GIANT sized washers ,to make something out of them, rather than have to have them custom made...trying to make some wheel adapters for a garden tractor,so I can use some ATV 10" rims and tires that I got from a Kawasaki Mule with a 4 bolt pattern about 4-3/8" circle, and bolt them to the tractors hubs that are 5 lug,4.5" bolt circle with a 3-1/8" center hole....something like a very thick washer,or maybe a flange like they weld to gas and water mains that bolt together might fit the bill !..................................................................................................I would just re-drill the rims, but they have a huge center hole that almost allows the 5 bolt hubs lug studs to just fall thru them...and I dont feel like dismounting the tires and trying to weld in the centers from some junk tractor rims I have,as I'm sure I'd mess them up beyond repair..without a lathe its tough to make anything round not wobble or come out crooked...since the tractor goes 6 mph top speed, its not imperative the wheels run 100% true anyway................................................................Tried googling for BIG washers, with no real results, and any pipe flanges I found were $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and dont have the right bolt spacings I'd need...wheel adapters can be bought but at 100 bucks each,I'll pass!..I'd sell the tires and rims and just buy ones that bolt before that happens...............I did find some Ford disc rotors I could use for adapters,IF I had access to a lathe to enlarge the center hole and reduce their outside diameter a bit, then I could bolt the Mule rims to the disc and use the Ford pattern to bolt them to the tractor..but I'm thinking being cast, they might not take kindly to being drilled,or used as weight bearing devices, and the tires will be loaded with fluid and wheel weights ,so I dont want to mess around making something that will fail in short order...................................................................................Any ideas?..

mcmaster-carr part number 90108A050 is 5 1/2" OD 3 1/8" ID. about $5 a pop these are zinc plated

or mcmaster-carr part number 91081A050 same size everything, plain steel and 4.15 a pop

Thanks,I'll check those out and see if they are something I can use !!...never though of trying them...I suppose trying to find any local would be a waste of time & gas,I doubt even the "good" industrial supply places here would have anything that big in stock---and not for 5 bucks either!..

DIY4X....custom cut to your specs!

In all honesty if kert could do this fairly cheap. (as i know your low on funds) this would work best because he could blow out the holes for the studs and they would be dead nutz to your specs, as would the ID, and OD sizes of the adapters.

I have another alternative,I could use some 10" utility trailer rims ,that already have the correct bolt pattern (5 lug,4.5" circle) ,they would only be 6.5" wide, the tires are 11" wide,so thats not that much of an issue, they may be a bit "rounded"when inflated, but thats not a big deal--and I'd still have to hog out the center holes to 3-1/8" so they would fit over the pilot on the tractor hubs.....................................................................................................so far I haven't found any used ones cheap enough though, and I'd rather not have to buy new ones for 30+ bucks each, then pay more to have the center hole enlarged somewhere,or hack up new rims....rather just wait and get used ones, and use my hole saw on them, being very limited on funds....................................................................................................OR,I could just sell the darn tires and rims, and use the cash to buy tires that fit the 12" stock rims...seeing my wheel weights wont fit 10" rims, that might not be a bad idea either!.....

no offense man and I don't want to sound like a dick although it's what i'm good at lol, but i think you are honestly over thinking this and trying to over engineer a wheel for what sounds like a lawn tractor. it seems that you would be better off buying a 12" tire that will fit the wheel you already have that fits.

Let's not re-invent the wheel here.
