GM. I believe door seals are still available through GM, not sure about the rest of them. Off the top of my head I don't know which posts contain it, but I know there are a few with the GM part numbers. Then just drop those numbers into ebay and gmpartsdirect (or similar) and see what comes up. gmpartsdirect will probably gouge on shipping, there are other dealers offering similar service, so you can check that too.

The GM parts are worth it, no matter the cost, if they are still available. Most are not, some are.

Any issue with "old" rubber though, if you go the OEM/NOS route?? In other words, how solid would 20 year old rubber be....

OEM stuff doesn't seem to be that old. If it's still being sold through GM dealers, I suspect they were made fairly recently.

I could see there being potential issues with NOS stuff, but my suspicion is that if it's been kept halfway decent (out of sunlight), and it was made in 1995 vs 1973, it will be fine. I've purchased more GM weatherstip-type stuff than I care to add up, and none of it has shown any evidence of deterioration.

i did stop by my local dealer and the weather strips are no longer available through them.

well it will cost $277 for the four seals for the door windows inner and outers. Is it worth buying them?

Abby feels the same way I do when looking for new seals for square. Lol

Vendor section A1tony has a complete kit for our trucks course it is aftermarket.

I ordered the window seals, and rear window seals from lmc. They weren't all that flimsy and had the proper swede stuff on the insides and the clips were well made too. The rear ones did come bent, but straightening wasn't too tough at all, with just the one bend.

Did the rear window seals fit ok and did not effect the window operation? Ive heard some say the seals fit too tight to the window.

I agree that at first, they seemed a bit tight on the front windows, but thats because all that swede inside lip, isnt broken in. I found after awhile they got slicker and the windows functioned as normal. I also have power motors so that coulda affected it too

GM stuff lasted how many decades? You think something half the cost, made in Thailand (or China) is going to last that long or fit as well?

I can't think of one aftermarket component that is made better than it came from the factory. There probably are, but that's besides the point. :) Aftermarket seals/gaskets are often improperly made, I've had two. Obviously LMC wouldn't be in business still if they didn't get their supplier to correct the issues, but I don't like having to re-do work, or stop a project for weeks to wait for a correct part that I've already paid for.Edit: I'm NOT saying their current seals don't fit. It's been years since I had those mis-made seals. I started buying OEM spares.

It's really up to you and what you plan to do. I figure if you plan on keeping the truck long-term, and can afford it, go with OEM while you still can. Some day it won't be possible and you'll have no choice. If you just can't justify the cost, go with aftermarket. But regardless of what our idiotic society has done to itself, quality costs money, and it's not more expensive just because it has the GM name on it. It may add SOME cost due to labor, environmental rules, etc., but GM is the one that invested the money to make them properly. Everyone else just takes a GM piece and goes to the lowest bidder to get it reverse engineered. Because that's all we'll buy anymore. Rant over. :)

Rant on! I flame out over this exact type of thing all the time. I am eventually going to go the OEM route but I will agree it is damn pricey!
