Folks,
Been banging my head in the wall trying to find a source for a set of NEW connecting rod bolts for our 1985 K5 6.2 diesel engine. Anyone out there know of a source?
John

I would crossreference the stock parts against a SBC/BBC. There is a good chance the parts are going to match one of those two.

I should mention that you can still get them from the GM stealership. 6.5 rod bolts are the same part, so just ask for those.

Sharing Comp Nine experience with Flo: Comp Nine came across with the bolts and nuts. It took them about two weeks, though. And it took three email messages (they had no phone number), the third one asking them if they were still in business :-) to get their attention and let me know where my order stood. I think next time I can't what I need at Rock Auto, NAPA, etc., I'll try the dealer first before going to Comp Nine.

Hey,
thanks for the feedback.
I use comp nine to check out part numbers and order over gmpartscheap or as I'm overseas via www.buygmpartsworldwide.com . Works awesome! I can get virtually everything and have it shipped over here via airmail or container (bigger parts):D I'm already getting big on ebay germany as I resell a lot of items, gaining quite respectable profits. 10-20 years ago or so (when there were a lot more C/K trucks on the road in Europe) I would have been king and swim in money $$$ :D:D:D unfortunately there are quite strict regulations over here, there ain't many old vehicles left.
Right now, everyone wants to have a Dodge Ram (especially a cummins diesel). I know someone who started a business about a year ago, he usually shipped one container a month, mostly dodge trucks and parts. Now he has a container each week, think he must have shipped about 150 cars and tons of other stuff until now. Germans really love American cars :D:D I'm living in quite a small town, but I think everybody wants to have a Mustang, Ram or a pre 1980s really big Amercian car. It's quite funny though. Many people are working for big car companies like BMW (and can get these cars for a reasonable price ) but they are tired of all that stuff and get a fancy big car . I once met somebody, a mechanical engineer at BMW who drove a 79 Ford Bronco. He loved it but he couldn't drive to BMW with his truck as the company didn't want him to be seen in such a gas guzzler. So they gave him some high mpg BMW, think the Bronco must have gotten around 9mpg whereas the BMW got around 40mpg, but well, the Bronco is way cooler :rolleyes:

Greetings

Flo

I have 12 cars at my uncles in Couch Mo... from 1937 chevy truck to a 65 ford galexy convert...

I could have a few to ship..lol

yeah,

that's the next thing. if I had 12 cars over here, sitting in my yard, they 'd send me the police to check if I'm doing something illegal or if I'm polluting the environment.:D You can'T have enough room. But mabe it's good though, otherwise I'd end up with a barn full of chebby teeruks (aint't that corvairwild-guy from youtube also a member of CK5 :rolleyes::D:D:D) think I'm one of his biggest fans:haha::D

I live in Virginia, USA, in a subdivision and have a mess (9) of cars in my driveway, all but one licensed and running, though: 1947 Dodge pickup, 1968 Ford Mustang fastback (selling it), 1969 Pontiac Firebird, 1985 Chev full size Blazer (6.2L), 1987 MB 300SDL (selling it), 1987 MB 300TD, 1988 Dodge Ramcharger, 1991 MB 560SEC, 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. And two V-twin motorcycles in my garage. No complaints from neighbors yet, I think they wonder if I'm too dangerously crazy to approach :-).
