I need a set of U Bolts for a D70HD. Where can i find some on the cheap? Stock might be too short, I'm getting some perches from DIY4X with an extra inch of lift in them.

I've searched (online) autozone & advance auto but can't confirm they have what I need.

thx

I saw ruffstuff's site but they don't seem to handle anything in a 4" tube diameter. All their stuff is 3" max.

go to a local spring shop and they can make them for you if not in stock for about 8-10 bucks a pop

I have always taken an example u bolt into a spring shop and have them make me some to match. My bud just bought some U bolts from Napa for his 14ff, I would imagine they would sell them for a Dana 70 also. They even gave him options for longer u bolts. I am assuming since there are different leaf packs offered in the rear.

i asked every auto parts store in town, napa was the only one that was of any use to me. But they said it would take 1-2 weeks to get them in. I would say check your trailer shops, the one i went to had a bunch of diff. length streight rods tapped on each end, just told them what i needed and they bent it right there for $8. you also might have some luck @ the truck stop service station.

Deaver Spring in Santa Ana,Kalifornia makes them. that is where I had mine made. I had a corrected set for a 14b made.

I'm a bit dubious about the u-bolts that spring shops bend up. A 1/2" or larger diameter u-bolt should be grade 8, but I can't see how a shop can bend a grade 8 bolt without either breaking or seriously weakenong it. It would need to be bent in the normalized or annealed condition, and then heat treated to proper specs. This leads me to believe that these u-bolts are fairly soft, low-grade material... Either that, or grade 8 bolts can actually tolerate being bent into a wide radius :dunno:

Here's where I get mine from always great service & pretty good prices http://www.stengelbros.com/

Awesome link. Thanks. They got just what I want. 4" ID U bolt, 7/8" thick, grade 8 with nuts and washers a little over 12" long. the whole kit is like 20 bucks.

Saving that to favorites...

Followup question,

Will the U bolts from a 10B work on a D60? I have the passenger side covered (perch integrated with pumpkin) but the other side needs a set. Just want to make 1 order.

thanks
