Where to get a 3\" Radiator Relocator Kit For 82 K5?

I need to find a radiator relocator kit for a 82 blazer with a 3" body lift. The high radiator is causing severe overheating problems. I need to know where I can find such a kit or any other alternatives you guys know about.

I think you're looking at a custom solution. I don't know of any kit that will let you move the radiator. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif A custom fabbed fan shroud or electric fans are a couple of options to consider.

I've seen home made drop brackets, but not a kit. I would think most welding shops could make it for you.

Ouch I'm really trying to keep it cheap. How would I modify an existing fan shroud to work better?

I don't think it'd cost too much to have a welding shop make a lowering bracket for the raditor, but for the shroud, you can cut it in half, and put some tin or plastic in too fill in the gaps. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Cut it in half. I can't visualize that do you mind explaining that a little more? Thanks.

most of our shrouds are two pieces just stapled together. some body lift kits just come with a cheesy kit of 3" thin tube spacers and some 1/4" bolts to space the two halves. Like what Z3pr said the top will bolt up as normal and the lower will then hang down to clear the fan.

I was thinking about picking up an old shroud from a junk yard and cutting the center section out of it to use as the "cheesy" spacer. I was thinking I might also cut the curved part around the junkyard shroud and rivet it to the existing one so as to elongate that curve. Anybody have any more ideas.

my brother runs a 400 horse 350 in his 79 blazer and with no shroud it doesn't get warm. what core is your radiator?? may look into swapping a diesel one in, 9" wider. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif also maybe think about adding an ekectric fan to it.

How do I determine the core of my radiator? Also do I look for the radiator for a diesel of my own year model?

Check radiator.com if you're gonna get a new one. They give a discount for K5 members. My 4 core was $116 from them

with the radiator cap off you'll be able to see inside the radiator(ONLY IF IT IS COOL ENOUGH TO REMOVE IT) they came in either 2, 3 or 4 core. I forgot on the diesels the tranny cooler hook ups are on oppisite sides so you'd have to mod those as well.
