Anyone know a good place to get a rear window for a 88-98 Chevy? One of the sliders smashed out of my truck a while ago, it is presently replaced with a piece of tinted plexi glass but thats a crap fix. I'd rather replace the whole thing with a solid tinted window, so where is the best place to get one? I'd guess a junkyard but can it be easily removed without damaging the glass? I know my dad bought a slider at Pep Boys some years back for his 94, going to go see if I can get one through Advanced(get a discount thanks to school).

I'd call both... glass places, as well as salvage yards. Get a rough idea of what each wants for the window. If the new glass place is just a few bucks more than a salvage yard.. it may be worth just getting it from them. Remember though, there price will usually include install. So that has to be weighed against the salvage yeard, and having to install it yourself. Plus, the yard may want you to pull it too (not too hard at all). But, there will be a point where the new glass cost will be worth not having to mess with it. Of course, after a certain point, it gets to where you would rather do it, then pay that amount. Only you know what those numbers are ;)

Good luck :thumb:
