The passenger side W/S on Big Ugly is literally flat. If I run a hose over that side of the cab water just pours in. I know I need to do some work with the hinges but in the mean time I'd like to get some new weather striping in there.

The local places seem to think they might have general stock of w/s that would work but none have anything vehicle specific. Then I saw the price in LMC and about went into shock...it's two pieces of rubber...:eek1:

Lemme know how it installs.

LMC wants like $55 a side unless I read the catalog wrong.:eek1:

Hrmmm...have to call the GMC dealership up here.

1A auto has them for $17 a door.

I have dealt with 1A Auto and they were a good experience fast shipping and the parts I bought were great. Have to check their seal out.

Got a website for 1A?

I take it only the stuff from GM would be authentic GM parts?

Gotten the stuff from Jcwhitney several times. Always had good luck with it. Takes a few door slams to get it to break in to where the door shuts normally again but never had trouble with it.

I keep seeing weatherstriping glue/goo listed. I take it I should order some of that as well?

On the outer door I would but not the cab to door one it should slip over the lip and stay IMHO! Never seen it on one before, I will use it on tail gate and my outer seals.

GM used the goo (as far as I can tell) on trucks with NO trim to hold it in place. Such as a base model truck cab.

The sill plate, roof trim, etc., all holds the seal in place, on the bottem end trucks, none of this was used, so something has to hold it in place. It's nasty stuff, I don't like it.

I ordered felt/rubber WS from JCWhitney, the pieces where you rest your arm when the window is down, and when I went to install them they were each over an inch too short. After haggling with JCW's HORRIBLE customer service reps, I tossed them and bought new ones from GM. The GM price wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. JCW had also messed up a previous order so I don't do business with them anymore.

Anyone know the part number for 1A?

Can't find it.

Cool. I should have thought to check the K5's. For some reason with the pickups it lists the whole door kit, the window stuff, and some other seals but not the individual door seals like that...?

Common, you know you want to drive 6 hours to put these on my truck while I fix the alternator on my Tracker...

Well, I called JCWhitney and they only showed the ZX811533A part for my truck so I ordered a set of those. Cheapest price I found by around $10.

Oh yeah, the local Chevy dealer wanted $35 a side and the GMC dealer wanted $55 a side...:eek1:

They arrived this week and I put them on today. cyber is right, the doors take a good slam now to shut correctly. Had to retrain the wife in "how to shut a big heavy old door 101".

The JCWhitney door W/S worked great and fit perfect. In fact I took about a foot off of each one so their was plenty of material. I took it through a "no touch" carwash where they use high pressure spray and we got no leaks at all. Well, from the door seals at least.:doah: Make sure you use the part number I mentioned above, they fit great and look like a good quality copy of what my smushed originals must have first looked like.
