Where can I get longer carriage bolts for my '71? They need to be grade 5 or better and I've looked or called every place within 60 miles of me including Texarkana TX. Any info is appreciated. By the way, this is for a 1" body lift on the blazer and the poly bushing were free from work. That's why I didn't buy a kit with the bolts. Thanks, Matthew

You drive a Jeep? But shouldn't that little
thing have training wheels?

My local hardware store had them. The lady working there didn't know what I was talking about when I called, so I just wen't down there and found them myself. It is a True-Value store if that helps.

I bought all my fasteners at Quality Farm & Fleet. Buy your bolts by the pound. A whole isle of Grade 3, 5, 8 bolts. Hex, carriage, allen, stainless, almost every length (up to 9") and diameter (up to 3/4") (not much in metric though...) Tractor Supply company is the basically the same type of store, they have 'em too.

I got mine at Ace Hardware.

Some people shouldnt drive anything bigger than their head.community.webshots.com/user/beaterwhang

I bought the ORD kit but had to get some longer ones at Ace Hardware. Big washers are harder to come by, but there are usually places that specialize in fasteners try the yellow pages.

If you knew the truth, you too would be against marijuana prohibition!

OK folks here is the latest. I've tried tractor suppy, tri-state fasteners, Fastenal, and every machine shop and hardware store in town and in Texarkana.(runnin my a$$ off today). The only carriage bolts I've found are Grade 2. and the longest grade 5 are only 4" long. Anyone else got any ideas? I'll try finding some online, but if not I guess I'll have to go with hex head.

here's the list:
siz X lgth - qty
7/16" X 4" -2
3/8" X 11" -2
3/8" X 6.5"-4
3/8" X 5.5"-2
All are carriage and need to be Grade 5 or 8 or stainless.

I tired every bolt store in the Seattle area. No one makes grade 5 or grade 8 carriage bolts that we could find. I ended up using regular grade 8 hardware. I hated when stuff catches on the bolts in the bed so when I got the bed Rhino lined I had them build up that area with extra Urathane. That was my solution.
