It's almost time to paint the blazer. This is the project truck which is 100% trail truck. I don't expect there to be body panels on it for long. But while they're there I'd like them to look semi decent. I'm just gonna shoot the same color on the outside so I don' have to worry about redoing the inside. Based on that how much paint do you think I should get. I want to keep it this color with the same white stripe

I have the glove box chart and it's showing the paint code is 68 Russet Metallic. I can't find this code or name on any gm paint code sites. The closeest I've found was on this picture but they call it red metallic while my sheet says russet metallic.http://brochures.slosh.com/1977chevy/blazer8.jpg

So where do you guys get your paint.

You can paint the whole exterior with one gallon with HVLP if you do a single color. Your local automotive paint jobber should be able to mix the paint to match. If that is the 33-year old paint, I wouldn't count on a paint code to come anywhere close. Are you painting a topper? If you can buy it by the quart, I would say 1-2 quarts for the white center and 2-3 for the rest of the truck.

It looks like it's torn down quite a bit in the pic - why not just squirt the interior too? Could be easier than the extra masking.

thats an old picture. Now there is quite extensive tube work filling the truck. That'd be a pain in the ass to mask. Plus money/time wise it wouldn't be worth it to me to worry about the interior
