I have a 1990 Burban and the wheel housings (or as I say the two bumps under the carpet the third seat sits between) have begun rusting. The rust is from where it welds to the bedside down. So it appears
To just be the housing tha need replaced. And iv searched high and low and I can't find these darn things. Anyone have a my tips or links. Thanks for the help fellas!

Ahh I see you have joined the dark side Ryan :D

Just need some steel and a welder. Bring it up for dune party and im sure 20 ck5 dudes could have it fixed up in no time flat.....

I sure have Adam but I don't see any other way :). I'm not sure if I can wait that long lol. Iv got a few quotes from body shops at 400 a side for patch work. So that's insane lol. I did find them on lmc I think.

I don't have a burb so I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Pics?

Assuming wheel well?

Nobody makes the Burb wheel tubs yet. I'm going to hack up some trailer fenders or maybe even wheel tubs from a pickup. Trailer fenders tend to be thicker steel though.

That sucks I really wish they did. It would make this a lot easier of a repair. Mine aren't that bad. I guess patches will work for now.

Tellin you dude. Bring it up here.

Ill help.

I did this one time on my floor....

I have a pair of these "window wells" that I got to use as trailer fenders, but never did use them--tried shoving one up into the wheel well of my '85 Suburban, and it looked like it would fit pretty good--it'd need some trimming and customizing, but its almost "ready made"--galvanized too, wont rust right away......mine has rot along the inner wheel wells ,but hasn't eaten thru the outside layer yet..

That looks really nice dueling. Mine is rusted right at the top of that wheel arch there where it welds below the window . But diesel do you by chance know where those fenders came from??

You can buy those window wells at home centers like Lowes or Home Depot, they use them on below ground level windows on houses...they aren't trailer fenders, but the do make great ready made ones!..they sell galvanized steel ones, and now they have PVC plastic ones also..

I found some "jeep" style trailer fenders for the trailer cheap at a swap meet,so I used them instead of the window wells..I ended up bolting those 2 metal "wells" together and mounted them on my garage wall,to use it as a log holder for my wood stove...:D

Well that is very good to know. I'm going to have to go get some and see if I can't. Make that work. Thankyou very much!

I would just section it with sheet steel. There are no real hard corners/bends to duplicate.
