I just bought some 1/4" thick plexyglass from home depot because I need it for a windshield, but it was 50 bucks for the 72" by 36" (6 feet by 3 feet) Does anyone knoe where to get it cheaper? I need to get a spare to put in the back.

Look in the phone book under plastics and see if there are any manufactures or a place you can buy it wholesale or some sort of plastics dealer...

Check the Yellow Pages under Plastics - Sheets..........and then ask THEM what they would use for a windshield. Polycarbonate is much tougher as far as impact resistance than plexiglass...........but both of them I believe are not very UV resistant, so sun will cause them to 'craze' and crack. Not good in either case for a windshield! Tell them your application and that it will be in the sun (and if I got it right you live in or near the Valley of the Sunstroke - dry heat and all

) - there are a lot of plastics out now with UV stabilizers in them - they use them in bulletproof window applications for the Secret Service, and if I remember right, 3/8" polycarb is bulletproof.

Anyway, check with them.
