I have a recently purchased a 1971 Blazer and I wanted to locate the build sheet on my truck. The truck was repainted in the past, pretty badly I might add, and the seats were reupholstered also so there is no luck finding one in the glove compartment or under the seats. I know from owning another late seventies model 4x4, the name with be withheld to protect myself from undue razzing :D, and I could order a reproduction or reprinted factory build sheet from a few different vendors. Alas, I cannot find someone or some company to direct me to get a reprinted build sheet for my truck. Please help a neophyte and tell me where I can purchase one. Thanks.

As I have been told from others is they did not come with a build sheet like the trucks did back in the day.

I've never seen a build sheet either.

The glovebox door sticker is probably the closest thing to a build sheet that exists.

Remember, the 1st Gens were "stripper" trucks.... they came with 1 seat, no top and EVERYTHING was optional. I've got some old documentation showing each option, and it's original cost... I think it even showed how much weight it added to the truck.

Best bet might be to figure out the original color of the truck (from somewhere way up under the dash) and then study the original factory brochures to see what interior color combinations would have been paired with that..... that's if you are trying to do some kind of perfect restoration-type project.

Otherwise, who cares? Build it the way you want.... just don't hack it into some kind of moon-buggy! :doah:

Thank you all for the comments and suggestions. I was looking for the information contained in the glove box door sticker to get the original color code and any/all options on my particular truck. Of course the color now is the ever popular early blazer blue. Greg72 has a point of building it anyway I want to. I have taken it on as a rebuild or restoration project for my daughter and I so she can learn about cars and to also have a little more respect for the machines which carry her around. Great information contained here and I will just keep reading to begin my journey.

well, you've come to the right place for any info you will need for your project so you're off to a good start. :)

Start up a build thread and take lots of pics so we can all follow along.
