Where to mount OBA AIR TANK???

Mounted my 2.5 gallon tank on the passenger side frame rail just behind the factory TBI fuel filter.

Right at the very tail.

On the crew cab, it'll be mounted on the Drivers side frame rail under the front of the box. More of a rectangular shape though.

Thanks. I shouldve specified that I want this under the truck out of the way. :D Pics would be helpful. ;)

My friend's bronco has a tank bolted to the inside of the framerail (kind of between the tranny/tc area) and it's never given him problems...
I've always been worried about puncturing them down there though so I'd look into some sort of skid...

I don't have pics because I haven't gotten to it yet, but I have a 2.5 gallon tank that I am mounting right by the rear seat drop down. It should be protected from damage, as well as be out of the way of most of the salt. There is a lot of room in that area to accomodate a tank, but some of the pics in this thread might be too much.

I had a ten gallon mounted under the drivers side area, between the front and rear doors. First time I went wheelin, it got ripped off the bottom and I had it tucked up almost completely outta site, so it was above the bottom edge of the frame. I now have it where the spare tire used to be and I am just planning on mounting the spare onthe back bumper.

Hijack: For you guys using the 2.5 gallon tanks, do you run out of air quick? My ten gallon takes forever to fill, but can do at least two tires before it starts getting too low. I'm putting OBA onthe wife's Burb, but I dont have a place for the tank as I cant move the spare anywhere else so I was looking at smaller tanks. It just seems that you'd run short trying to fill up tires.

This will depend on your compressor output and how long it runs. My York (the big one, 10CFM IIRC) fills the 10 gallon tank to ~150psi in a minute or a minute and a half, IIRC. It then cycles on and off, with the duty cycle depending on if I'm doing tires or running the impact or whatever.

Yeah I'm only at a fraction of that. The 90 burb has a 12v that is rated at 2.5 cfm at 45psi, but past that I think it drops off pretty fast. I have the volume, but not the pressure:D
