Where to put the axle on the leaf springs

When you take the axle off the leaf springs and put blocks or new lift springs or shackle flips, how do you know where to bolt the axle to the right place on the leaf springs??? I'm a newbie when it comes to lift kits, so your input will really help me out!!

The springs will have a locating pin. The head of this pin goes into a hole drilled into the spring perch, which is welded to the axle.
