I am considering selling my restored 79, but everywhere I look they don't bring anything or they don't sell. Is there a place other than taking it to barret jackson or something similiar, that I can list it where it's chances of selling are better? Thanks guys

This board is the best place I know of. It will take a while, but that is just because most people are scared to spend big money right now.

:Dcraigslist? can't hurt to post it up for free.

if you're talking about fully restored, maybe you really should try the big auction houses. that's where you'll find the collectors that will pay top dollar for a nice truck. most of us on here will whip out all sorts of scary tools and make it into an offroad machine.

and scream how we can get a 1 tonned, blah, blah for 6 grand...

If it's nicely done -- like restored to factory original -- Ebay might well bring a decent price.

Lots of people say "restored" to mean "fixed" or "built for off-roading" or "it has chrome EVERYTHING" or even "I hid some rust" ... so I don't know if we're talking about a decent-condition daily driver, showroom-floor-original truck, or some kind of purple-shock chrome show queen with Lambo doors.

Note that the economy is in the toilet; I finally sold my 300ZX today after having it on Craigslist for two or three months, and I got maybe 3/4 of its Blue Book for it. Sucks. Earlier this year I sold my M1009 in two weeks and got my asking price; I musta just hit the right time as like the week after that, diesel jumped about 20% in cost. I feel bad for the new owners, but there's no way I coulda known :(

Anyway, point being that even if it IS concourse-quality restored, you're gonna eat your shorts on it anyway, 'cuz vehicles are a miserable excuse for an "investment" ... AND you're gonna get even less right now. Prolly not a lot of sense in selling.

[Now, if it was a '73-75 concourse show truck ... and if I had any money... :haha: ]

Yeah I know. I got a ton of money stuck in it, it's actually kind of sickening. But we just bought a house and getting married and it has to sit outside because it can't fit in the garage with the 4" lift. Idk, it was my first vehicle and it was always babied. I think I'm gonna put it on craigslist and see if it gets a bite. If not, oh well.

You can see for yourselves. http://evansville.craigslist.org/car/730377075.html

Hate to say this but. If its lifted it is not goinng to fetch top dollar. If you are trying to sell it as a restored vehicle. The lift will knock quite a bit off its value. Clean lifted trucks are a dime a dozen. A clean old truck in orginal factory condition are what bring the best prices

Yeah, see, that's your basic modified truck. Nice, sure, but not restored -- it didn't come with the motor, exhaust, etc etc.

Very clean truck, but like everyone else has already said, vehicles are not worth investing in and they aren't bringing in any money right now.

By the way, you better put that radiator cap back on.:D
