I run the 2w.d. box along with the ORD cross over system for steering. I have the D-60 Chevy front. I want to tap the box myself and put together a hydraulic assist ram. I know there is a post on pirate , but they are tapping into a Ford box. I am tapping into a 1976 Chevy 2.w.d. box. Has anybody here done it? And could you take a pic of your steering box if you do? Thanks

Buy the end cap which goes on the very end of the gear box (round cap) from JKW and it will explain to you how to drill and tap into the top cap which is aluminum.

I'm sorry, could you give a full name for JKW. I have heard of this cap before. It sounds good. Thanks :D

Using the cap is a lousy way to do it IMO. Much too prone to cracking, and very exposed to possible damage.

Check out this write up. I know it's a dodge site, but they use the same steering box and the article is excrutiatingly thorough.
