Where to Wheel!!!!!

No hard feeling at all. I was just as upset as you were. It is difficult to find people to wheel with. My buddy and I ran across them and I saw the other K5 so I of course "trail bonded" with him and we link up with them. I assure you never again. You are right though, what he did was an absolute blatant /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif. That hillside was completely and clearly marked for no passage. I can't help you anymore on his ID though, I was only introduced to him as "T". I have seen the rig around town though.

im going to have to agree with fordeater on this one. as a general rule, it is frowned upon by CK5 members. whether it was CK5 members or not, what good is it going to do to whine on the internet? take pics, call the police/ranger/patrol/whatever, and have them deal with it face to face.

Now look who the baby is.. I never made a comment about you or your rig. You went there first. I just happened to point out some wrong doing. I did it here and on the other boards I post on. Your the Only one complaining.

Oh BTW next time I have the Jeep up in Washington we can just see who can go farther.

You are the one who wasted the time and effort to create an account on here just to cry about somebody going on a closed trail. Like it even did any good to cry about it, i mean obviously you didn't even have the story straight, but because you saw a colorado k5 sticker on a k5, you assumed he was the one illegaly driving on a closed trail. What did it accomplish to come in here and whine about it?

I said what I came here to say. I know nothing more can be done. I am not trying to piss people off. All any of us can do is tell those who screw up that they screwed up. They have to make the choice to do the right thing. And Kevin I am really sorry for thinking you guys were all together. I was just a little steamed at that point. This is only a sore spot with me because the week before a guy I work with got a ticket and he was on an open road. Then some go on closed ones and get away with it. I hope you understand.

I said a vehicle or vehicles in the group had the sticker not the one who was in the wrong. If you have a problem with me asking questions and stating what I saw then so be it.

First off, he is not crying, nor should you be flaming him.

He obviously has good intentions, saw an incident, saw CK5 stickers, came here, asked around and someone set him straight. Where's the problem? Well, perception is a lot and some people might take it that we condone going down closed trails. The problem has been clarified.

Now if you have any other problems with this guy, I'm sure you can take them up with BRC or any other Land Use group and explain to them you have a problem with people who report people who wheel closed trails.

I don't think the thread was intended to turn into what it has become. Jeepguy was just addressing a major concern for all wheelers. It seems for every trail opened, 2 more are closed down here is CO. We cannot afford anymore trail closures, that we could all agree on.

Yes, it is hard to keep trails open here in Colorado. Its hard to keep them open everywhere these days. We all bought our rigs reguardless of make to be able to enjoy our free time in the places we love to go. I didnt want this post to get so harsh.

Well I want to thank those who helped set me straight in what I saw. Thanks for those who put up with a jeep guy on your boards. I appoligize to those whom I offended. I am sure some day I may encounter a few of you on the trails. Till then I wish you the best wheeling possible.

Hey Kevin I got your message and seeing how I only took the free membership I cant respond. I just want you to know that My friends and I wheel with all types of vehicles. If you want you can look into jeeps-offroad.com. Go to readers rides. Look for Colorado Elite Jeep Club(not an official club just one of my buddys made up name to be different) There is a folder of pics from a trip across Medano pass and into the north end of the dunes. We had a nice big K5 and a stock Suburban with us. Along with jeeps of many different years and builds. It was fun. You can feel free to run with us any time you see us on the trails.

Man, quit being a little tattle tale. BIg deal, a sticker was on a truck. If they had an edelbrock sticker would you go call up edelbrock and tell them that somebody with an edelbrock sticker was on a closed trail? I would hope not. You are pretty dumb coming in here whining about that. There is nothing anybody here can do about that. Call the police and drop it. Some people!

Probably the worst attitued one can have and in my opinion the main reason we are loosing places to wheel. There is absolutly something we canb all do here at this site and that is promote proper , legal wheeling. DON'T ASK DON'T TELL IS NOT WORKING!! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif
Don't you get it. We are losing this battle. The fact that someone was there with a CK5 sticker and WAS ascociated with the group proves that what people see is what they believe.
I applaude JEEPGUY for having the guts to come here and STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS, our rights, HIS rights. I think it takes something to say what he said. I think most of the mature people here , even the one he was refering to, took it as what it was. JeepGUY was letting us know.

PEOPLE, PAY ATTENTION. If all of us DO NOT START STANDING UP WHEN WE SEE SOMEONE DOING WRONG WE WILL LOOSE ALL OF OUR LANDS!!!!!!

Did any of you here about what happened down in Katemcy this last Memorial day weekend. The place was left trashed. trash on the trail, trash in the toilets. Boosing on the trail. All of this lead to the land owners getting VERY upset with everyone there. Ican tell you it was not our group, but it makes no difference. WE WERE THERE.
I for one am guilty of seeing people doing wrong and saying nothing but I can promise you this, form now on I will speak up, from now on if I see a club logo or a website I will let them know. It is the right thing to do. It is MY responsibility. IT IS ALL OF OUR RESPONSBILITIES.
It is not about pointing fingers it is about protecting the precious places and sport that I think we all love.

If you don't want to say anything that is your businessm but don't you DARE condem others when they do.

maybe I took this to far, but I am just pissed that someone here has the gall to respond with tattle tail or the likes. So to answer your question....Yes I would call edlbrock if I thought that contacting them would make any sort of sense. A CK5 Sticker represents a group of people. I for one have been here from DAMN NEAR DAY ONE, and I am proud to be, but I know that other CK5ers DO reflect on me. THAT IS WHY I DON"T HAVE A PIRATE STICKER ON MY RIG. (I am not Pirate bashing , but we all know they have a different thing going on there. yes I post there sometimes and no they are not all bad. If you are intelligent enough you will understand what I mean, if not I say PISS OFF)

oh yeah, i'm so sure, you really hurt my feelings. You are the little baby. You are just jealous cause your little heep couldn't make it up the trail. Get a real rig

You know what the problem is right now as much as anything?

Lack of enforcement. The FS and BLM do not patrol so people get away with it.

I HAVE ZERO PROBLEM WITH THIS GUY COMING HERE AND POSTING THIS. IT'S LACK OF RATTING OUT THAT IS LETTING THIS HAPPEN

Take your Jeep hate and put it aside. This effects everybody that wheels. This guy is going to loose just as much as we are if this is alowed to continue

If it was somebody here that did this they should be called to the table. At least us letting them know what kind of a idiot we think they are is better then what is going to happen....NOTHING.

Dude I wish you got pictures. I would personally post them on ever board I am a member of to try to bring some shame to this tard. Somebody knows that idiot at one of these boards and making them look the fool is about the only leverage we have to stop this BS and stop losing trails.

Since I have been wheeling I have lost of the closest 5 trails to me. Till Anderson creek opens (and there is a strong possiblilty it may not be open to full size) I have 2 hours of road between me and the closest legal place to ride. I'm pretty pissed off about it and it was BS like this that has caused this problem in the first place. We have to police ourselves and if we don't NOBODY is going to have a place to ride.

Thanks for taking the time to make coment.

Thanks for the support from those who gave it. Just so you know. I would expect you all to post on every jeep board if you saw me running where I shouldnt.

Couldn't agree with you more. I really don't think he is a member here though. When I first met him that was the first thing I asked him and he said no. I was looking through my flash card on my camera because I took a couple of pics of my wife driving and I thought the guy on the hill might have been in the background, he wasn't in it though. I did have my camera in my hand when I walked up with Jeepguy but I didn't think to take a picture then.

Ben, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Don't mind fordeater...every board has it's dumbasses. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I really don't even think that is the point anymore, but I understand what you are saying. I don't feel that anyone here is holding you accountable at this point. What really erked me was the dumb as a monkeynut reaction that was had by fordeater. The time has come for all of us GrownUps and responsible people (any age) to stand up and speak up when we someone doing wrong.

I just don't think it does any good to come into a website like this and complain about it. I see his point, and i don't think its right for anybody to go on closed trails. But, its a waste of time to complain in here about it. I would notify the proper authorities for sure, but that is the extent of what i would do. Thats just my opinion.

Very true. I also sent Ben a PM to apologize for the rude comment made to him by fordeater. I think he knows that comment was not a representation of this site. I am (darn) proud of my membership sticker and want to keep it a positive feature of my truck!
