Got a pretty good deal on this 3 weeks ago. Was really only looking for something to give my little guy some rides on and for my older son and I to play around with. It's a '94. Bought it with the trailer. Trailer needs some attention but will work for this season.

I replaced one skag, obviously the windshield could stand to be replace. Front bumper cover is cracked to hell. Might just fab a tubular replacement. Other than that, a little TLC will go a long way.

another money burner eh?

Looks like fun, come up to the great lakes east side, we're getting some lake effect right now!

Nope, not a chance of it. Found a windshield for $15 and a replacement key switch for $10.

Skag cost less than $5. If it tries to become a money hogg I'll sell it off.

I've been catching some of the lake effect snow weather reports. Send some over!

Everything starts cheap man, then it gets a bit more expensive, then a bit more, but damn you are having so much fun its worth it, then snap you burn it down. Hey I got a good deal on a 600 motor I will just slap in here.

Kert I know you are already there but let me be the first to welcome you to the downward spiral. :haha:

Dang sleds are worse than trucks sometimes. Have fun with it man, I wish I had one. Sleds are so prominent around here they close everything that would be fun in the winter down to us. So we have to hope for a foot or more in the valleys.

BTW we have plenty of snow

We finally got some snow. And some more snow and some wind. Lot's of wind. I had a snow drift in the front seat of the shop truck this morning.:haha:

Nice Kert, did your boys build a snowfort?

Nope, no snow forts here. Not good building snow. Structural value has been for shat.

Got a used in excellent shape windshield for the sled the other day. $15.00 and 10 minutes to swap it out.

I know what you guys are thinking, here we go, spendin' money on it. Well, this is a repair.:shame:

Ah yes the beginning of the end here. What I am waiting for is the track issues. Well its not that much more for a longer track. Belt goes. Well I might want to upgrade the clutch a little bit.

Once all thats done that 440 just aint cuttin it, lets find a 750 and swap it in.

I just knew you'd be pointing these out.:D

Today I fixed the key switch. $10
Replaced the skis. If you'll notice above, one is metal and red and the other is plastic and pink. Just not cutting it for me. Now they are both black and plastic newer type of ski. $50.

Still in the realm of repairs in my definition.:sign4::thumb:

OH, and worth the mention, I drove it to the shop today. 15 miles, i'm a self admitted sled newb so I didn't go crazy fast. 35ish most of the way. Unfamiliar with the sled and the trail dictated some caution. Lots of chop on the trail but not a bad ride.

Then back home at the end of the day. My lower back and hips are wasted. I feel really old tonight.:doah:

Sounds like you need to upgrade the rear suspension...long track kit maybe?

Nah, Need to stretch out once in a while and keep things limbered up. Besides, that'd be letting this turn into a money pit.:deal:

looks like fun potential is there....fun riding without a helmet isn't it?

i got 1 better.

The blue one is a 700cc two stroke. Has the "blue" cylinder head which from what I understand is the performance cylinder head. Also has a triple pipe and some other engine mods. Aftermarket suspension front and rear. Not sure the brand but nice stuff. 144" track.

Traded my Suzuki Samurai straight up for it.

Nice... I want a newer sled. It's not worth it for me to rebuild my 94 zr700 by the time I fixed everything I would be half way to a newer sled.

My middle son just got a look at the sled tonight. Here's pretty stoked about getting them out and doing some riding. His enthusiasm was getting me going.

Truth be told, I really hate snow.:doah:If it has to come, might as well make the best of it.

that is the same sled my cousin has Kert....it is wicked fast too!
good attitude on the winter...might as well make some fun out of it!

We got some snow last night and sounds like more in the forecast. If we get the 3-4" advertised, it'll be on!
