Getting ready to swap in the 454 in place of the 350 in the 80. I have ORD competition motor mounts, 4 core radiator and all the pulleys, accessories, etc.
The only thing I will have to change is the exhaust (going completely new). I am debating running headers vs. the manifolds that are on it. If I do go headers which ones (from personal experience) seem to fit the best and seem to be good construction. I was leaning towards Dough Thorleys (don't mind spending the $$ if they are worth it), but thought I would gather info from other's experiences.

TIA

I had thorleys on my sbc, and got em again on my bbc, IMHO you cant beat em. Well, except maybe on price lol.

I ran Hedman headers on the 454 in my 80 K10 and I loved them. They fit good and I never had a problem with the head flanges warping. My first set did eventually rust away (after about 10 years) but I replaced them with another set. I have read about people having to notch the frame rails with some brands, this was NOT the case with mine.

I will be buying another set of Hedman's for my K5 project.

My '85 BBC... I had to use some hammer persuasion to make the passenger side fit by the engine mount.

I'm also running hedman headers for a 454 in my burb. They also fit with the 454 in the blazer I used to own. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
