I'm looking into buying an aftermarket cam and was wondering which would be the best for my truck.

I have all the cheap mods done to it like the injector spacers, tbi spacer, fuel pressure regulator and such.

Which of these two cams will give the best performance for the money.

This one was recommended by a few people on here a while back.

And this one was recommended by brian at www.tbichips.com

My last final question is, how much noticable difference will I see with a set of cam and lifters? Will I really beable to tell after install?

The Edelbrock one will land you a free chip from them. Probably not as good as one the TBIChips will burn you though.

And just to let everyone know, this is for a new crate shortblock he is intending to buy which has 9.7:1 compression with 64cc heads. He forgets to mention the important parts. :D

If it's a new motor and he has never driven it he will not notice anything since he has not driven it with the new motor, get a recomended cam with a chip and it will not let you down, a cam alone is not going to give you 50HP, on a stock motor, Dave

This was going to be for my stock engine. 4x4 got confused because I've been talking with him a lot lately on building a stroker.

So what's the deal with this post, it says on the main page that you posted again at 1:32pm today when in fact you haven't posted on here since4/15 at 8:17pm?

Awe, that makes sense. I didn't even think about that although i doubt that he voted on his own poll.

I voted for the Comp cam. because I know it works good with TBI. But looking at the specs for the edlbrock, it is pretty much the same as the comp cam for less money. If Brian recomends it he most likely has a chip burned for it that works well.
If you have stock TBI heads you really need to change the valve springs to a heaver spring. The stock ones are pretty weak. So figgure on buying a set of springs with the cam.
Also adding 1.6 to one rockers will help build a little more torque.
You really need to have headers and performance exhaust to see the maximum gains from either cam.
If you have stock exhaust and don't plan on upgrading I would go with a smaller RV type TBI cam. Like a Comp 252BH-11. it will build good torque and get good MPG. You wont need chip work with that one either.

I ran the whole Edelbrock power package. It all worked together pretty well.

I should be getting the info on my new motor pretty soon and I will let you know what cam he put in it.
