This is the one that was on the truck I bought for the cab that had Hydroboost (which I`m still using)

Not sure why they`re different, the first one looks to have some sort of connection on it, not sure what for, brake lights maybe? Must sense a change in pressure?

The top pic is a proportioning valve and every truck has one. Not sure where the hydro boost trucks are located but standard power assist brakes they are located on the back side of the front crossmember. The electric sensor is for the brake light in the dash to let you know there is troubles with the brakes somewhere.

Well, when the truck I bought for the cab was complete, that was bolted onto the engine xmember, and is where the lines came from to go to each front caliper. Is that how I should set it up?

Yes, you want a proportioning valve in the system otherwise the rear brakes will lock up on you.

I`m just curious why all I saw on my blazer was that little connector. Is that a porportioning valve as well?

No, that is just a junction block. Someone may have removed the stock proportioning valve and installed an adjustable aftermarket valve or they did a rear disc conversion and just eleminated it completely (some people do this but not advised).
