Which front springs to get to go with (removable) shackle flip?

I currently have the shackle flip in the pic. Anyone else running something like that? The rear springs are the stock sagged 29 year old ones.

My front springs are from a local shop, but they are soooo stiff. I want to replace them with a nice set of Tuff Country, or BDS.

I was thinking ordering 8" and if the butt looked sagged add a zero-rate to the rear. Do you think 8" is ok? or is 6" enough?

I have a 454 and will soon install a winch to add more weight to the front. But I'm looking for a soft ride. Any recommendations?

PD: The painted axle is because I had just installed 5.38:1 gears when I took the picture.

those are some weird shackles

LOL I actually got the idea in this form. I don't remember the name of the user that used to sell them. The shackle is actually fixed. It just acts as a support for the swinging reversed shackle. I did it this way because it isn't permanent (wasn't sure at that time, now I am), it's faster than removing or opening a hole on the hangers, it gives you an extra inch of lift, and its cheap.

All the shackles are removable, its a bolt and nut. :D

Pull a leaf out of your front pack?

Whats your shackle angle like it front that has a huge affect on the feel of the spring.
