Which hi-lift, 48\" or 60\"

Which one is a better one, I am thinking the 60" just to be safe but the 48" sure would save room. They are only like a $10 difference.
Thanks

60"... better too much than too little when you need it. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

Get the 60 trust me youll need the extra 12" Shoot on a buddy's K5 with 4" lift and 38's I used the little bumper lift thing and I was maxed out with the tires barely off the ground.

60". With 35's 5" lift and a fairly unflexy suspension I can max out a 48" hi lift without getting the rear wheels off the ground.

Who carries the 60"? All the ads I ever see are for the 48"...

Re: Which hi-lift, 48\" or 60\"

4wp has them, get on today at a 4wp store and you get a good discount

I also carry some chain so I can hook my axle to my frame so I can lift the tire off the ground and I have a 60" and only have 33's and a 3" lift.... /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I got a 48 and was thinking of cutting it down so it could be used underneath on the axle. Leave the handle long so I don't have to be under there with it but hook it on the axle tube. Maybe make some kind of cradle to prevent tippage.

Do you have a Sportsman's Warehouse in your area? If so you can get them there and they have a really good price. $50 I think it was for a 60" when I bought mine. Cheaper then any of the offroad shops I found local.

They make a 48"? Must be for Heepers.

Re: Which hi-lift, 48\" or 60\"

I have never used one of these and i really need to get 1. How do u lower them if your truck is up on it? I know it dosent have any hydrolics on it.

Re: Which hi-lift, 48\" or 60\"

Im not 100% but I think there is a lever that makes it so that you can jack it down just like you jack it up.

Re: Which hi-lift, 48\" or 60\"

Yup theres a little lever you push down and that allows you to lower the truck just like you were raising it..

Re: Which hi-lift, 48\" or 60\"

ts a lot more expenceive if you dont get the 60, and the 48 dosent cut it ans have to buy a 60 new, its a bit easyer, doset really take up that much room. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

heres as 60:hi lift

Re: Which hi-lift, 48\" or 60\"

I bought a 48" before I knew better. I have 39.5" tires and 57" rear springs with a shackle flip. When I put the jack under the rear bumper the suspension doesn't even come close to maxing out and needless to say the tires are firmly planted to the ground /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Wrap a chain around your frame and axle, it'll take the springs out of the question when jacking it up.
