Okay I am about to install my freshly rebuilt 350 in my 76 Jimmy. It has flat top pistons and a mild comp cam with headers. My dilima is if I should use this high rise intake I nabbed, or the stock? Which would give more torque? Or would there be any major difference before I go through the trouble of trying to make the high rise intake work.

Look for a edelbrock rpm performer intake they work from idle up .The high rise you have there is a 3500 and up intake The one on the left is a good stock intake. It is pre egr.

The edelbrock carb is fine it will need off road needle n seats in it

Can I get the off-road needle and seats at the local parts store? I will need this cause last time I got stuck at an incline it had trouble starting lol

In my experience the off road needle and seats helped more with the bumpiness of the offroading, not necessarily the off camber situations.

Here is the part I used, and I've seen it at the parts store that carry edelebrock carbs. Pretty sure its universal but make sure it works with your carb.

And then they get alittle dirt in them that does not go thru for some reason and back to square one. And they do not work on off camber stuff. The top is not sealed off so gas goes where it is not supposed to. But do as you want.

I would recommend a performer rpm or a chevy zz4 intake. That high rise will kill power where you need it most in these vehicles.

Yep performer rpm all the way, that intake you have ain't gonna run all that well at low rpm :waytogo:

I run just plain performers on both my 4x4s, didn't pay anything for them. Everything I've read about performers is they are good for weight loss :haha:

Neither one will work right until you drill the holes for the fuel injectors :)

I would not use either one of those manifolds. The aluminum one is a single plane/high-rise (not good for low RPM's), and the other one is a spread-bore intake for Qaudrajets. Like the others said, you need an Edelbrock Performer dual plane/sqaure bore manifold for the Edelbrock Performer carb (this carb used to be known as the Carter AFB about 30-years ago).
