Which magnaflow muffler version to use?

Getting my exhaust redone and dumping my flowmaster tomorrow and need to know what is a good magnaflow to go with? They have so many options. I am getting 3" in and dual 2.5" out but I have found two main options through magnaflow...the standard aluminized #12588 and the XL13288. Which one of these would work/sound best on my 87 350 w/thorleys. I dont want loud, but I want the best flow possible.

Anyone...I really need to know soon so I can get this...I am leaning toward the non XL...is this the right call?

Don't get the XL, it's not the straight through design, and it only has a 1 year warranty as opposed to the lifetime warranty the standard one comes with.

BTW... It's an excellent muffler

Oh yea, one more reason, the XL is being discontinued.

aluminized, thats the one i want to replace my flowmaster with. except single 3" in/out
