So, we have finally have the PSC Pump, Redhead rebuild and the hydro (not installed) ready to fill up with fluid and we are running into conflicting information.

Redhead test and primes the box with Dexton 3 ATF and PSC says no to ATF? Knowing we are going with hydro assist for the future what should we go with? Not concerned about warranty but don't purposely want to kill it if at all possible. If we go with a non ATF do we need to bleed the box?

This got discussed a while ago. The warranty issue is the sticky point from what I remember.
You would be fine to fill and bleed the system without trying to purge the box of the ATF if you used Swepco oil or something else besides ATF.

I use Schaeffer's synthetic ATF and haven't had any problems, but I have seen DexIII get used for years, even in heavy duty trucks. I even have a PSC pump on my '90 with hydro assist.
