I have the basics of this down, but a standard relay wont work to my knowedge. As to get the windows to roll up, the other wire leading out of the motor needs to be grounded, and vise versa. So my question is do you need the relays with 87 AND 87A? And how do you hook them up, as the standard ones with 2 87s wont cut it, unless I am doing something wrong. Please fill me in, I read the various threads and the answer isnt quite clear and I am going to pick them up this weekend as my door panels are all off, window seals are out and its ready to get painted as well.

You just need two DPST or DPDT relays per window. Most of the cheap Bosch ones will work.
The Double Pole Single Throw relays are all you need, but the others are more common.
One relay is turned on for up and the other is turned on for down.
Each of the two wires on the motor is hooked to the same NO terminals on each relay, but the common terminals are hooked to positive and negative in the opposite order.
So the power flow is reversed depending on which relay it turned on.

Forgive my electrical incompetence but i get the idea i think. But is there a simple and easy to read and simple diagram for this?

Well, there is, but I think you have to be a member to see it..........

Post 113 of this thread has a good schematic.

He is doing it with two single pole double throw relays instead of double pole, which is probably even more common.

If the schematic is not visible, check the explanation on post 1 of that thread.

Its a little unclear, let me illuminate.

The line that reads terminal 85 to the window switch, means the up wire to the 85 terminal on one relay, and the down wire to 85 on the other relay.

And the line that reads terminal 30 to the window motor, means one motor wire to one relay terminal 30 and the other motor wire to the 30 terminal on the other relay.

Terminal 86,87,and 87a are hooked up the same on both relays as said.

This way, when both relays are off, both motor wires are hooked to ground. When one relay turns on, that wire goes hot, and the other stays grounded.

Hope that helps.
